Hop off at the closest HOHO stop and approach Lombard from the top for the classic downhill photo. The lower vantage near the switchbacks works well for telephoto shots.

Walking loop

1. Step off at the top viewpoint.
2. Walk the switchbacks down and continue toward Russian Hill for skyline views.

Pro tip: Weekday mornings are quieter for photos.
