Routes, Stops and Maps — Navigate the HOHO Network
San Francisco HOHO services typically run two or three distinct loops. Knowing the loops helps you avoid backtracking.
Typical loops you'll find
- Downtown / Union Square Loop — Great for shopping and transit connections. Stop: Union Square.
- Waterfront / Fisherman's Wharf Loop (Powell–Mason or Powell–Hyde) — Best for pier attractions, sea lions and the carousel.
- Golden Gate / Presidio Loop — Scenic; includes viewpoints that cross or approach Golden Gate Bridge.
- Sausalito Extension — Some tickets include or allow upgrades to a ferry/Sausalito connector.
Top stops and what to do there
- Fisherman's Wharf / Pier 39: Seals, carousel, seafood restaurants.
- Alcatraz Cruises Pier (Embarcadero): Buy combined combo if you plan to visit the island.
- Golden Gate viewpoint (Battery Spencer/Marin Headlands access on some tours): Sunset photos and skyline panoramas.
- Union Square: Shopping and transit to cable cars.
- Lombard Street: The famous switchback — a short walk from the bus stop.
